Sumedha Jain is an ambitious student at the Singapore American School, where she studies a range of subjects including Spanish, Social Studies, English, Art, Accelerated Biology, Geometry, Physical Education, and Choir. Alongside her studies, she also actively involves herself in extracurricular activities that fuel her passion for literacy and community engagement. As a reporter and graphic designer for her school’s newspaper, she authors articles on topics like student life and mental health while also assisting with publication design. She is also part of the EAA Service Club, where she assists teachers and young elementary students with activities and projects. Further, Sumedha is a practicing vocalist, piano player, and swimmer, and enjoys finding her outlet for creative expression through writing. Through Empower Today, Sumedha seeks to provide every young student like her with the opportunity to amplify their voice, proliferate their opinions, and be part of a more informed, connected world; because when students feel empowered today, their potential knows no bounds for tomorrow.
